I heard a news report today that gave me chills. I published a short story, Labor Day, a few weeks ago. The heroine's a pregnant mom-to-be who has all her baby things stolen and a sweet police officer goes out and replaces her carseat and some of the clothes.
The news story? A sweet Ohio cop who pulled an aunt over and instead of giving her a ticket, went out and bought two carseats for her nieces/nephews. You can read the report here.
Yeah, I know. Not exactly the same, but close enough to give me chills.
Go ahead, play the Twilight Zone music!!
And a big hand to Officer Mark Skala! You sir, are a real hero in my book.
